Spring Break Travel Tips For Those With Braces

It’s that time again; Spring Break is here. For many of our patients, Spring Break is a popular time to take a vacation and escape the responsibilities and routine of every day normal life. As we encourage you to take some well-deserved time away and hit the beach, we want you to remember to stay responsible for your braces while you’re traveling.

Be sure to pack more than the essential tooth brush and floss if you wear braces! Check out our tips below for those of you wearing clear aligners & traditional braces
  • If you wear Invisalign or Clear Correct, be sure to remember:
  • Always take your previous set of aligners, your current set, and your next set of aligners with you.
  • Always carry your aligners in your purse or carry-on luggage when flying.
  • Take an extra case.
  • Make sure you rinse out your mouth and aligners before reinserting into your mouth if brushing is inconvenient.
If you wear traditional braces, be sure to pack the follow:

  • Orthodontic wax
  • Floss & threader
  • Proxy brush
  • Rubber bands (if required)
  • Ibuprofen
We hope these tips help you while you’re on Spring Break. If you have any questions or concerns while you are traveling please give Beim Orthodontics a call. Wishing you all safe travels!

It's National Oreo Cookie Day

Warning, what you are about to read will make your taste buds dance!

The day we’ve been waiting all week for is finally here, it’s National Oreo Cookie day! This day is recognized across the United States every year on March 6, allowing us to enjoy as many Oreo cookies, and various Oreo flavors, as we want completely guilt free. Did you know Oreos were developed in 1912? That means Oreos have been around for 104 years. Since its debut in 1912 the Oreo cookie has become the absolute best selling cookie in the entire United States. Are you ready to learn more about America’s favorite cookie?

  • Check out these awesome Oreo Cookie Facts:
  • In 1912, the Oreo Biscuit was renamed to “Oreo Sandwich”.
  • In 1948, the Oreo Sandwich was renamed to “Oreo Creme Sandwich”.
  • The name “Oreo” was first trademarked on March 14, 1912.
  • The first Oreo cookies in the United States sold for 25 cents a pound in clear glass topped novelty cans.
  • William A. Turnier developed the modern-day Oreo design in 1952 to include the Nabisco logo.
  • Nabisco’s principal food scientist, Sam Procello, developed the modern Oreo cookie filling.
  • There are 25 different flavors of Oreos, some that look nothing like the original Oreo most of us are used to.
So grab a glass of milk and start dunking, and join Beim Orthodontics today in celebrating National Oreo Cookie Day! Be sure to post pictures with your favorite Oreo flavors on our Facebook page, or tag @beim_ortho on Instagram and use the hashtag #BeimOrtho!
